As you might remember, we recently blogged about the new IMAX theatre and all the exciting features.

The day has finally come! The IMAX theatre in Bryan had their open house on September 4th.  It was an exciting time for everyone, with lines out the door for free showings all day.

Opening day provided free showings of “Space Station 3D” which was a movie that has been proclaimed as a remarkable achievement in film because it was the first movie ever to be shot in outer space. “Riddick” was also shown at the opening , with fans receiving free memorabilia for being some of the first in attendance.  IMAX also has upcoming events for those who were not able to make

Bryan is getting a new pipe and tubular products manufacturing facility. This addition to the Research Valley will create an estimated 500 jobs and add an estimated $20 million in revenue for local governments over the next ten years. "This project will serve as a catalyst and anchor tenant of Texas Triangle Park and will bring significant economic benefit to Brazos County as a long-term corporate citizen. Our taxpayers will see a significant return on this investment," stated Brazos County Judge Duane Peters.
