Texas Central Partners is a private, Texas-based company that is developing a high-speed railway to connect Dallas and Houston with a stop-over in Grimes County, directly East of Brazos County. Although still in the planning stages, the promised time to travel between Houston and Dallas on the railway is less than 90 minutes for what would normally be at least a 3.5 hour drive.

What does this mean for Aggieland? With a stop-over planned so close to BCS, the transportation time to and from these major cities would be dramatically reduced. The CEO of Texas Central Partners says a rail line stop will “bring benefits to every community it touches.” A&M students traveling to and from their home towns would be able to use the rail line.
