South College Station's population and development has seen unprecedented growth in the last 24-36 months.  This growth pattern towards Houston doesn't seem to be slowing down at all anytime in the near future. Because of this population growth, after 72 years of having only one high school in College Station, in the Fall of 2012 College Station Independent School District unveiled its new state of the art modern multi-level high school located off

HWY 40 Fitch and Victoria Avenue. In May 2009, College Station voters approved the sale of $144.2 million in bonds, including approximately $112 million for the construction of a second comprehensive high school. College Station High School opened this August with freshmen and sophomores only attending the high school the first school year. A grade will be added each year until full implementation in August 2014. The first graduating class for College Station High School will be the class of 2015. Like A&M Consolidated High School, College Station High School will have its own athletic facilities and the capacity of both schools is similar. This high school is currently class 3A and has 19 varisty sports. At first glance, you could look at this high school campus and mistake it for a junior college facility; CSISD did not spare any expenses when designing this new high school.

College Station High School has created a lot of buzz and excitement in the neighborhoods south of Rock Prairie surrounding the new development. Some of the top neighborhoods have been zoned to enroll their kids in the new College Station High School. Just like anything else in life, people like to be a part of something new and exciting and the same goes for when they are deciding where the kids will go to high school, or what subdivision their families we be a part of. Here is a list of some of the top neighborhoods zoned to the new College Station High School. Castlegate, Castle Rock, Creek Meadows, Duck Haven, Edelweiss Gartens, Indian Lakes, Nantucket, and Saddle Creek just to name a few.
