You have probably noticed the large development project along the east side of EARL RUDDER FREEWAY at Sebesta
It has been personally confirmed with two different sources that the construction will be a Mercedes Benz Dealership as well as the new location for Brazos Valley BMW.
The site work has been developing for many weeks now. In the past few days, steel has been erected. Recently I spoke with Madison from the City of College Station Planning and Development Department to discover a few of the building projects going up in our neighborhood. Madison was kind enough to share that the construction along the east side of Earl Rudder Freeway is slated to be a Mercedes Benz Dealership. Searching online, I located an article posted by WTAW Newstalk 1620 dated December 12 2016 with voice and details from the City of College Station City Council meeting when the development was approved by the City Council. find the link here
Today, I had a brief conversation with David from the parent company, Brazos Valley Imports. He was able to pass along a few additional details on the project. Currently the steel is going up on the BMW dealership which will be relocated from it's current location at the corner of Earl Rudder Freeway and Briarcrest Drive. Brazos Valley Imports will remain at it's current location with changes planned in the future. The foundation for the Mercedes Benz dealership will soon follow adjacent to the BMW Dealership. At the city council meeting December 12, 2016, there was also discussion of future high end retail space being included in close proximity to these dealerships. David reported that the dealership projects are slated to be operational in the first quarter of 2019.
A second development project caught my eye as I was headed to the College Station post office. Steel was already being erected when I first saw it. This project is located behind the College Station Wal-Mart. Madison was able to tell me that it was slated to be commercial retail however she had no further information to share. I am curious to learn what the retail will be. If you have further information on this project or any other future development please let me hear from you.
